Israeli Attack Fails to Take Out Hamas Leader

A deadly enemy of Israel, Abdel Aziz Rantisi, was only lightly wounded this morning when an Israeli helicopter launched a missile attack on the car in which he was riding. Hearing the helicopters overhead, Rantisi apparently fled, and received only shrapnel wounds in his hand and leg. From his hospital bed in Gaza, Rantisi announced, "We will continue with our holy war and resistance until every last criminial Zionist is evicted from this land."

Spokesman for Hamas for the last ten years, Rantisi was one of 400 terrorists expelled to Lebanon by the Rabin government.

Scott Lindlaw, for the Associated Press, reports this morning that "President Bush scolded Israel, warning that such a strike "does not contribute to the security of Israel."

Had the strike been successful, it's my view that it would have contributed greatly to Israel's security. How dare President Bush scold Israel! Were Rantisi declaring war on the United States, instead of Israel, no doubt Bush would order a similar attack. The unrelenting double standard, when it comes to the Jews, is racist and unacceptable.

If Israel were not so dependent on American aid, he wouldn't be able to take this condescending posture. FYI - American security aid to Israel must be spent only on American-made weaponry. This may be good for the American economy, but it acts to replace the indigenous economy and puts Israel in a position of being a protectorate of America. Maybe this is where Left and Right can come together: STOP AMERICAN AID TO ISRAEL? It's a thought.
