Muslim Life in America: a State Dept. website?

I learned of this at the superior blog, Israpundit, and had to bring it here because it is just so surreal. The U.S. State Department sports a website called Mulsim Life in America, as part of its International Information Program.

I got as far as reading the words of Shahed (is that like Shahid? I hope not.) Amanullah, an engineer who lives in San Francisco: "American values are, by and large, very consistent with Islamic values. . . "

Maybe this is fine stuff, it's just so very odd.
