Rantisi is a Terrorist

From an editorial in this morning's Washington Post: "Mr. Rantisi is not himself a combatant but rather one of the people with whom Mr. Abbas has been negotiating."

Wrong. Rantisi is an arch-terrorist, and personifies a vile threat to the very existence of the state of Israel. The covenant of Hamas is clear: "Israel will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it."

Rantisi has consisently held that there will be "No recognition of the Zionist entity. All the land of Palestine is a part of the Islamic faith and the Caliph Omar bin al-Khattab declared it for all Muslims. Therefore, no individual or group has the right to sell it or give it up."

Americans should not take this lightly, as Rantisi has threatened America with the Jews he hopes to displace: "I hope that some time in the future the Jews will establish another state in the United States of America and they will call upon you to coexist with them and accept their occupation of your land."

When named one of TIME Magazine's Middle East Newsmakers of 2002, Rantisi said, "I consider this a year of accomplishment for Islamic groups . . I believe that this century is going to be the century of Islam." G-d forbid.
