Reuters is a joke

Either that, or what's happening is simply insane

Both are true. Read this quote from a Reuters article headlined, "Israeli Prisoner List Disappoints Palestinians":

"The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a group within Arafat's Fatah movement, took responsibility for the attack (the shooting of a mother and her children in a passing car) near Bethlehem but said that 'it was not aimed at violating the cease-fire.' "

Meanwhile two teenagers have been abducted in separate incidents: Dana Bennett, 18, of Tiberias has been missing since the early hours of Friday morning, and a visiting yeshiva bocher from America, Eliezer Zusia Klockhoft, 19, disappeared on Sunday, while visiting the tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai with a group from his yeshiva.
