URGENT ACTION APPEAL: DEMAND TOUGH ACTION AGAINST IRAN
Earlier this week, Scotland Yard issued a warning to Britain's Jewish community that it faced imminent terrorist attacks. Suspicious Iranian activities in the last few weeks raised concerns when police spotted and questioned a group of Iranian "tourists" taking covert videotape of Jewish community buildings in London. Although specific attacks cannot be predicted, urgent measures MUST immediately be taken to warn the regime in Tehran not to target British Jewry or her institutions.

There is currently an unprecedented level of threats against Jews in Western Europe, primarily from extremist Islamists. The recent reports suggesting an Iranian link are all the more ominous since the Iranian authorities were behind the murderous bombing of the Jewish community building in Buenos Aires in 1994 which left 85 dead and hundreds injured, and the Tehran regime still openly calls for the Jewish State's destruction.

It is critically important that the British government, supported by the European Union, France, Germany, and Japan, all of whom have important economic ties in Iran, act now to send an unequivocal message to Tehran that the civilized world will not accept further threats to its citizens spawned or supported by the Tehran regime's hatred of the State of Israel.
Join the Simon Wiesenthal Center in urging British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw to take immediate and direct action to thwart the latest terrorist threats emanating from Iran.

In the case of the U.K., the potential marriage of Iranian state sponsored Jew hatred and contemporary terrorism demands that new levels of intelligence and security measures be taken, as well as a new commitment by the world's democracies to fight antisemitism in all its forms and manifestations.
