Pro-Palestinian Activist or Spy for Saddam's Regime?

Khaled Dumeisi trial begins in Chicago
Charged with failing to register as an agent for the Iraqi government, conspiring to serve as an agent without so registering, lying to a federal grand jury, and lying to immigration authorities, Dumeisi is portrayed by his defense as a hapless pro-Palestinian activist. More at AP/Yahoo News.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a federal judge ruled that the prosecution may show a videotape of Dumeisi praising Saddam as a "great" and "inspirational" leader (for fighting the "evil Zionist stronghold"). The judge did not rule on whether Iraqi Intelligence Service documents that allegedly make reference to Dumeisi will likewise be admissible. "The documents are considered crucial to the government's case."
