Kerry on Israel

Jewish Current Issues has a very enlightening piece on Kerry's position(s) on Israel. Rick Richman takes us through the sequence of events, comparing and contrasting
* Kerry's December speech to the Council on Foreign Relations (wherein he named former Pres. Carter or former secretary of state James Baker as possible envoys to the Middle East),
* the "major grief" he got from Jewish leaders,
* Kerry's response to the Forward that it was a "staff mistake,"
* Staffers' insertions in the speech,
* Kerry's ad-libbing, and
* (what I consider) a very damning reponse at the Q&A after the speech.
The upshot is amazing. Read it all.
