Maariv Poll:
If you were a Likud member would you vote . . . For disengagement?

With only 218 votes cast so far, the majority (81%) has voted in favor.
This is a tough one. I can support Sharon's plan in that it will cut off Arab access to Israeli life (literally and figuratively), but I absolutely abhor the idea of expelling Jews from Gaza, and handing it over, judenrein, to the Arabs - who will obviously view such a retreat as victory. And yes, it will increase their appetite for Jewish land.

I think Sharon is being pragmatic: It will save lives to separate the two peoples, and it's easier to expel the Jews than the Arabs. Even though more than 20,000 Israelis have been killed "in war and hostilites" since the re-establishment of the State, there is still no public mandate, even in Israel, to transfer Arabs.

It's funny (not ha-ha) - expulsion of Jews has occurred over so much of the planet, even in the United States, and even in the Holy Land -on more than one occasion- and still in this day and age, it's being considered . . . by the Jews themselves.
So, on that happy note, go vote your conscience.
