Montreal Yeshiva Firebombed - No Injuries

Arutz Sheva: The United Talmud Torah School in St. Laurent, Montreal, was targeted in a hate crime attack on the eve of the Passover holiday. There were no injuries reported in the Monday firebomb attack. Damage was heavy with the incendiary device resulting in a major blaze to the building. Local police report arrests are expected as the investigation continues.

“The attack against a place of learning where young people study is unacceptable...the assault was not directed at the Jewish community of Montreal but it was an act of violence directed at all Canadians” stated Prime Minister Paul Martin. According to an Israel Radio report, the Jewish community of Montreal is concerned over the attack perceived to be in response to Israel’s ongoing war against terrorism.
"This is just a beginning"

CP/Canadian Press reports that
Security around Montreal's Jewish institutions was stepped up after the fire and police said they'll be keeping an extra eye on Muslim mosques.

The TVA network reported that sources say the notes denounced recent attacks against Palestinians, including the killing of Sheik Ahmed Yassin, leader of the Islamic Hamas movement.

Reports quoted a portion of the letter Monday night. The network reported the note warned: "Our goal was only to sound the alarm without causing deaths. . . .but this is just a beginning. If your crimes continue in the Middle East, our attacks will continue."
