Palestinians engage in nation-building
fortify Arafat's compound

Mangled car wrecks are scattered across the grounds of Palestinian
leader Yasser Arafat's compound, known as Muqataa, in the West
Bank town of Ramallah. The Muqataa was fortified in hopes of impeding
Israeli tanks if they try to push the site.(AFP/Mauricio Lima)

water development projects worth tens of millions of dollars in the Gaza
Strip, because of the Palestinian Authority's failure to find those behind
