Five consecutive life terms and 40 years

Palestinian uprising leader Marwan Barghouti yells
to members of the media while he is pushed by Israeli
police to enter the Tel Aviv District Court before the
last session of his trial, Sunday June 6, 2004.

Barghouti was convicted May 20, 2004 by the Israeli
court of involvement in attacks that killed five
civilians. An Israeli court sentenced Barghouti to
five consecutive life terms and 40 years Sunday for
his role in attacks that killed four Israelis and a
Greek monk - the maximum possible sentence.

Today's his birthday.
