RMPJC concentrating on issues closer to home

July 22, 2004 - Colorado Daily: A local nonprofit organization challenged Boulder and the county on Wednesday to reduce the need for spraying of adult mosquitoes that might carry West Nile Virus by adding additional mosquito traps.

In a Wednesday press conference issued by the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center, Ed von Bleichert, CU's integrated pest management coordinator, said reporting of mosquito testing for the city and county is flawed.

I don't want to be smug or anything, and I certainly don't want to make little of mosquitoes, but I find it curious that RMPJC has never publicly defended themselves against the charge by Boulder County Commissioner Paul Danish that "they have functioned for the last three years as ideological enablers of terrorism."

Perhaps they've seen the error of their ways. One can always hope.
